TWO prestigious tournaments for blind and individually impaired players are earmarked for Blackpool Indoor Bowling Club in November.
England will play Israel in a blind international next Thursday and Friday and the national triple championships for the partially sighted follows on the Saturday and Sunday.

Blackpool has hosted the national triples since it was first organised by St Annes competitor Jim Bithell, who says: "The championship is always well supported with entrants from all over England and Scotland and it's hoped there will be plenty of supporters for both this and the Israeli international.

"It's amazing having so many blind and partially-sighted people enjoying the game. There is a good-natured but competitive spirit."

The England-Israel game is at 4.30pm on Thursday and 12.30 on Friday.

The Israelis are staying on to compete in the nationals, which begins on the Saturday morning.

More details about these matches and other activities at the centre by ringing Ray Flynn on 751400.
