Trio triumph in county cup

The four outstanding Lancashire Cup games involving Blackpool & Fylde Sunday Alliance teams were finally played last Sunday, with Northern Care the only local losers. They went out 2-0 against New Farrington.

Devonshire Arms beat Johnson Fold 6-4 and now meet rivals Blackpool Rangers in the next round on Sunday.

Rangers won 5-2 away at Bury against Duck Club, with Peter Floyd scoring a hat-trick and the other goals coming from Karl Atkinson and Chris Cairns.

Division 1 side AFC Additions defeated FC Springfield 2-1 and now meet New Farrington in the last 16.

Holders Quilligans went through to the quarter-finals of the Gledhill Cup after beating Fairhaven 4-0, with second-half goals from Paul Cook, Kevin Ford, Lee Broadbent and Nick Greenall.

A hat-trick from Chris Smith saw FC Loco go through 6-2 against Frenchmans Cove.

A Ryan Bingham double gave FC Eden a 3-1 win against Bloomfield Vets, while Fylde Coast Gates defeated high-flying FC Matrix by the same score.

In the only Premier game, Hydronics won 4-1 at Wrea Green with a hat-trick from Phil Smith.

The Old Town Hall and Highbury Vets shared the points in division one, with Graeme Hutchinson and James Home scoring the goals in the 1-1 outcome.

West Coast Tackle went joint-top of division 2A with two games in hand after two goals in each half gave them a 4-0 victory against FC Talbot.

Captain John Emery scored their 50th league goal of the season, while leading scorer Ric Seear got a second-half double.

Improving The Squirrel moved to third after beating FC Brun Grove 3-0. In a ten-goal thriller, Autoweld defeated Rossall Tavern 6-4 as Tyrone Melling scored three for the winners.

Progress Sports & Social went level with Fleetwood Kings at the top of division 2B after beating them 3-1, with goals from Curt Smith and Andrew Brown. Highfield Social moved to third after ending Skye's good run 2-0.

Division 3A leaders Real Burlington suffered a shock 3-1 defeat by Falcon, despite scoring first. A pair from Neil Gore and a Robbie Walsh goal sealed the win.

AFC Ansdell Excelsior and Farmers Arms both scored eight goals to stay joint-second with hat-tricks from Adam Casson and Stephen Farquhar.

3B leaders Kingsfield won 5-2 against SPS, while Score Football climbed to fourth, overtaking Ashiana by beating them 4-3.
