Fylde scrum-half Jordan Dorrington has been banned for three weeks for a dangerous tip-tackle on Tynedale opponent Stuart Johnson

Dorrington received the red card during the National League One clash with Tynedale at the Woodlands on Saturday, which Fylde won 38-3.

The ban was handed down at a three-strong Lancashire disciplinary panel hearing at Haydock.

The original sanction was five weeks, but this was reduced to three weeks due to mitigating factors.

Fylde coach Mark Nelson, who attended the hearing, said the panel took into account Dorrington’s youth and past clean disciplinary record.

The ban spans the dates October 20 to November 10.

Mike Hawlin chaired the panel, which also included Samantha Hillas and Austin Newman.

Nelson said the club had no complaints about the verdict, which they accepted.
