A further 14 players have been selected from each of three other regions – Midlands, South East and South West – to form a squad from which the England Colleges team will be selected to play matches against Portugal Under-18s , Irish Exiles and Welsh Colleges.

The other players from Myerscough, near Bilsborrow, are Aiden Charlton, Matty Dowler, Mosese Liwa Liwa, Olly McCall, Phil Mills, Orisi Nawaqaliava, Olly Parkinson Eddy Webster

Rugby Academy course leader Rod Murray said: “We work our lads hard, so they deserve their places. We’re especially proud that nine of the 14 Northern Region places have gone to our Academy students. It shows the level of talent we have here. Hopefully next year we can get a clean sweep with all fourteen places!”
