FYLDE RU hope to be able to draw on the services of flanker Steve McGinnis for Saturday’s visit to the Woodlands by Blackheath.
Whether he figures in the squad depends on two factors – he has to recover completely from an ankle injury and also needs to be clear of school duties. Prop forward Tom Lavelle is available again.
Blackheath are the oldest rugby club in the world, having been formed way back in 1858.
Fylde and Blackheath are long-standing rivals over several decades.
Coach Mark Nelson has less than pleasant memories of meeting Blackheath – he made his Fylde debut as a player 30 years ago and ended up on the losing side.
