Fylde rugby club scrum-half Jordan Dorrington will appear before a Lancashire disciplinary panel on Wednesday night in the wake of his red card.

He has been summoned to appearing follows his sending-off in the first half of Fylde’s win over Tynedale at the Woodlands on Saturday.

The panel will convene at the Haydock Thistle Hotel.

Dorrington was dismissed for a offence contrary to the laws regarding a tip-tackle or a dangerous tackle.

The player has already been suspended by the club pending any action by the panel.

The hearing had originally been scheduled for Tuesday night, but because of the nature of the charge and allegations of a tip-tackle and its ramifications, the hearing was delayed 24 hours.

There is also a suggestion that another Fylde player was involved in the tackle.

It is the first time that Dorrington has been sent off in his rugby career.

He joined Fylde during the close season, having previously played for Vale Of Lune.
