Fylde RFC coach Mark Nelson takes his side to Esher tomorrow with the warning: “This will be our toughest away match of the season.”
Nelson knows what to expect against the second-placed side in National League One.
He said: “Esher have been challenging for promotion all year and signed some very good players from Harlequins and they will want to finish off the season in style.
“We will not put any pressure on the players and just stressing the importance of going out there and expressing themselves.
“We want to go out on the right note and make sure that we give Esher a run for their money.
“They are a side who will think they have under-achieved this season by not finishing as champions.”
Fylde rely largely on the side that beat Blackheath in a high-scoring affair.
Nelson is checking on the availability of Harrison Collins, hoping that he will be okay to play either at number eight or on the flank.
Wing forward Ben Vernon (shoulder) has been ruled out.
Nelson said: “We have a match next week against Macclesfield, followed by Lancashire playing in the County Championship and we did not want to risk Ben missing from those.”
Fylde: C Briers; Spragg, Waywell, Brennand; Johnson, De La Harpe; Birchall, Roddam, Altham, Griffiths, Arnold, Thompson, Stewart, Collins. Replacements: Lavelle, Burtonwood, Maher, Wallwork Viney.
