Recognise the cross dressing Pool player?

EVER seen Ian Holloway, Charlie Adam and Alex Baptiste dressed as women? You're about to.

Striker Stephen McPhee hasn't been lazing about during his time on the sidelines recovering from a cruciate knee injury.

Encouraged by Holloway to raise money for a good cause, McPhee came up the idea of a calendar.

But with a twist.

He has linked up Blackpool's transvestite showbar Funny Girls – and the end result is a sight worth seeing.

Not to put too fine a point on it, the players have swapped trousers for skirts and applied a bit of lippie.

The resulting pictures are all in the calendar, which is available from next week, priced 7.99 with the proceeds going to Brian House Children's Hospice.

"The gaffer likes to do a lot of charity work. He looked at the injured lads, especially myself being out for so long, and asked if there was any way we could go and make some money for a local charity," explained McPhee.

"I thought of a calendar straightaway and perhaps naked lads. But everyone has done that it and it isn't to everyone's taste.

"So we arranged a meeting with Funny Girls and all went well, so we've incorporated them in.

"The outcome looks pretty good. So it's us dressing up as women, and when you see the calendar you won't be able to tell who the lads are.

"In fact some of them look so good it's quite scary to be honest!"

Holloway, who makes an appearance himself, has nothing but praise for McPhee – and reveals that he can't wait for the striker to be get back in the starting line up.

"I'd like to congratulate McPhee because I think he has been absolutely fantastic," said the boss.

"I am trying to keep involving him in these things to try and keep his mind straight and I am looking forward to seeing him play.

"He is back running now at the training ground and it is great. I can't wait to see him actually put a Blackpool shirt on again.

"People keep asking why I don't sign a certain player, like a goalscorer, but let's have a look at who we've actually got here first.

"I'm really excited about someone like him coming back in, which won't be too far away.

"He'll be back sometime in January. And from what I've seen of the gentleman so far is absolutely magnificent.

"He handles himself brilliantly and I can't wait to see him play for us.

"In the meantime please buy the calendar, it's for a great cause."

- Keep on eye on next week's Gazette for details of how to get your calendar.
