Putting the fun into college course work

WHEN it comes to golf around the year, Myerscough College's boast is that they have got it covered …outdoors and in!

The college has long had a nine-hole course and that has recently been augmented by a 1.8m sports hall, where the accent is very much on golf.

Myerscough's proud claim is that the new golf studio offers the best facilities of its kind in the country … whatever the weather is like outside.

There's state of the art equipment, using the latest technology, that allows the golfer to practise chipping and putting on Astroturf.

Up-to-date video technology enables the golfer to flick a button and play on any of 30 different courses all over the world, without stepping outside the heart of deepest Lancashire!

There's even technology on site which gives the enthusiast the chance to make an instant assessment of how he or she is swinging the club.

Images can be downloaded on to a CD, which the players can take way and see for themselves just where they are going wrong and how to correct any faults.

Expert help is also given on the grip, set-up and swing. There are also individual lessons and courses available for juniors and adults.

Myerscough has for some years held a course for aspiring golf professionals, which leads to degree qualifications accepted by the PGA and has been a trailblazer.

Myerscough recently held an open day to show off the facilities to members of the public.

Full details about the golf and other sports facilities available at the centre are available from Myerscough at 01995 642200.
