Pool's Dickov hopes 'nearly' dead

BLACKPOOL'S hopes of adding Paul Dickov to their squad are fading fast.

A row with the striker's agent appears to be on the verge of scuppering the deal with Dickov likely to choose FC Toronto instead.

Grayson is still hopeful of saving the deal but it doesn't sound good.

Asked if Nardiello's arrival spelt the end of the Dickov deal, the

Seasiders boss replied: "Nearly. We spoke to a couple of his representatives on Monday and I'm not sure whether it's contrasting reports but this representative was telling me that he is going to be signing somewhere else.

"We are obviously disappointed if that is the case but in all honesty it was getting to the point anyway where we had to maybe decide to move onto different targets.

"I think the Dickov deal will be resolved in the next 24 hours or so.

"I know we said that a couple of weeks ago but I think one way or the other it will be decided today – either with us signing Dickie or us pulling out of the deal."
