Pool to smash transfer record
IAN Holloway has made two offers which would smash Blackpool's transfer record.
The manager revealed that he has made bids for two players in excess of the 500,000 the club paid Rangers for Charlie Adam last summer.
After last night's friendly in Crewe, Holloway said: "I offered more money today than I have ever done in my whole career – and I've been a manager for 14 years and have bought some decent players.
"We smashed our record yesterday with a couple of offers. That sums up what we are trying to do.
"So when people ask what is going on, basically I've been trying to find out who is available, if I like them, how they might fit in, what I had last season and what I am going to need this season.
"You don't need to be a rocket scientist to think about who we haven't got who scored in vital games for us."
Holloway's increased activity in the transfer market followed a meeting with chairman Karl Oyston on Monday.
The pair are now waiting to find out whether their bids have been accepted.
