Ollie wants to be Claret class

IAN Holloway is using Burnley as a template for what the Seasiders should be aiming for.

The Pool boss believes Owen Coyle's Clarets are a club of similar size and sees no reason why his team shouldn't emulate the success of their Lancashire neighbours.

Ahead of today's Championship clash with West Brom (weather permitting, see below), Holloway said: "I watched Burnley against Arsenal the other night and they were absolutely fantastic again.

"What they have achieved is tremendous. They had almost the smallest squad in last season's Championship and they certainly used the fewest players.

"Yet they were consistent, they beat teams and they got promoted. That's the beauty of it. I listened to Owen talking after the Arsenal game – they'd just drawn 1-1 and should have won.

"They are challenging the best in Europe and yet Owen keeps his belief strong. If they can do it, why can't we?"

Pool can jump back into the top six with victory over the Baggies today, though they have a rash of injuries and David Vaughan is suspended.
