Fleetwood Town U12 lost their 100 per cent record in the PDPL division 1A after a dramatic 1-0 defeat to Blackpool Rangers Tangerines at Bispham Gala Fields.

The first half ended goalless after a tight midfield battle, though both sides had chances. Both keepers made top saves, with Nathan Carter in the Rangers goal pulling off an outstanding stop, pushing a fierce drive over the bar.

Defences were on top for much of the second half, though it remained an open game with chances at both ends.

Just as the game looked destined to end in deadlock, Rangers won a last-minute free-kick 25 yards out which Ollie Leggett fired a left-footed screamer into the top corner.

This was a great win for captain Jack Meadows’ side, the match played in just the right spirit.

In the U11 A league, Blackpool Rangers Seasiders won a seven-goal thriller away to Foxhall at Fishers Field.

Rangers took a third-minute lead when Matty Poole slotted home from a tight angle, then he seized on Will Raby’s long through-ball to double his and Rangers’ tally on 14 minutes. Foxhall made it 2-1 at half-time and equalised early in the second period.

Man of the match Poole’s hat-trick goal, from Ben Wilson’s perfect pass, put Rangers back in front and Blacke Bullock made it 4-2, set up by Oliver Earnshaw.

Foxhall’s third set up a thrilling finale but Rangers emerged 4-3 winners, with Nathan Parkinson, Thomas Doogan and Wilson outstanding.

St Annes Purples and Spirit of Youth shared the spoils 1-1 in their U11 division B clash at Blackpool Road North.

Spirit took the lead at half-time with a fine volley from a corner.

St Annes man of the match Chris Kelly upped the tempo in the second half and Alfie Wilkinson hit the post wit h a free-kick before Will Mathieson equalised late on for Dan Rowe’s side.

Kirkham looked lively in the opening stages of their 4-4 draw with YMCA U11 at Seafield Road and it was no real surprise when they went ahead.

The visitors doubled their lead shortly afterwards but YMCA started to string some good moves together and reduced the deficit with a strike by Harry Gledhill. However, Kirkham restored their two-goal lead to reach half-time 3-1 ahead.

Soon after the restart Daniel Keegan reduced the deficit as the game continued to swing from end to end.

The visitors added a fourth goal but YMCA continued to display a great spirit as a goal from Finn Pearson and Noah Mawane’s strike in the closing minutes earned YMCA a point.

Layton Clarets survived a Foxhall Hoops fightback to win 5-3 in their Moor Park match on FA Respect Weekend. Ryan Stevenson opened the scoring for the Clarets , who moved into a 4-0 lead as Sean Precious scored twice and Harley Liddle hit the target too.

Foxhall came out blazing for the second half, pulling three goals beck before Precious’ hat-trick goal sealed the Clarets’ hard-earned three points. Benjamin Farnworth was commanding at the back for the Clarets and was named man of the match.

South Shore and Fleetwood Town Whites played out a very close U12 contest between two sides who have started the season strongly.

Shore maintained their 100 per cent record with a seventh straight win in this 3-2 nailbiter.

Ashton Wainwright won it with the last kick of the match after Joshua Harris had netted twice for Shore

Liam Hewitt and Jake Joynes were the Whites scorers at South Shore Academy.

Matchwinner Wainwright shared the Shore man of the match award with Joe Kearns.
