Blackpool Ladies faced Lytham Seconds in the Lancashire Central premier derby and it was Lytham who took the lead with a clever reverse chip.
Blackpool got a grip on midfield, with Lauren Burrell, Amy Partington and Lucy Woods playing exceptionally well.
Blackpool’s Maria Adams struck the ball goalwards and with a slight deflection Blackpool were on level terms.
Lytham regained the lead with a free hit before half-time.
Blackpool started the stronger in the second half and Becky Worthington soon equalised with a fine goal.
Despite Lytham’s best efforts, it was Blackpool who stayed in control and scored the winner 10 minutes from time through Burrell .
Blackpool Seconds did not fare as well in the cold snow showers which prevailed during most of their division one game at Rossall Ladies.
Blackpool were three down by half-time, all the Rossall goals coming from attacks down the right and crosses to the far post.
Shona MacPherson was unlucky in sustaining an injury which prevented her from making her trademark attacking runs and she had to help out in defence for the whole second half.
Blackpool created a couple of chances, with their player of game Mairead Lucas instrumental in them.
Rossall did have further chances in the second half but the Blackpool defence held strong and it remained 3-0.
