Kwik-fire aces from Roseacre
Roseacre Primary School has won through to the SPAR Lancashire Youth games finals in doublt Kwik time.
The Stonycroft Avenue school will represent Blackpool in the Kwik Cricket finals after winning the borough-wide tournament at Stanley Park.
The two unbeaten sides battled it out in a thrilling final, in which Roseacre got the better oof Revoe.
The victory completed a great day for Roseacre, who had won all their group games and beaten St Cuthbert's in the semi-finals.
The lightning speed of Kwik cricket makes Twenty20 look pedestrian.
It is played between teams of eight, each batting for eight four-ball overs.
Teams start with a score of 200 and score as normal but lose five for each wicket to fall.
Every player bowls one over and each pair of batsmen faces two overs, meaning everyone gets a chance to develop all the skills of the game.
The county cricket finals will be staged at Lancaster's Salt Ayre Sports Centre on July 2.
They will share the stage SPAR Lancashire Youth Games athletics finals on the same date, two days after Stanley Park plays host to the SPAR Lancashire Disability Youth Games.
AllStars has been asked to thank Blackpool Cricket Club for hosting the Kwik cricket event and Gill Singleton for co-ordinating it.
