International debut for Seasiders' Wes

POOL'S Wes Hoolahan was today reflecting proudly on a major milestone in his career.

The winger made his senior debut for the Republic of Ireland last night in the 1-0 win over Colombia in a friendly international at Fulham's Craven Cottage.

Hoolahan is being increasingly linked with a move away from Bloomfield Road and full international status can only add to the outside interest.

He was brought on as a second-half substitute by manager Giovannni Trapattoni, who came in for some criticism for not using more subs.

Robbie Keane scored the winner.
