Injured Waywell ruled out of derby
FYLDE RU utility back Mike Waywell has had to swallow a double dose of disappointment.
Not only will he miss the match against his old club Preston Grasshoppers at the Woodlands on Saturday, but he is out for the remainder of the campaign with shin splints.
Fylde director of rugby Mark Nelson said: "It is something that needs sorting out – we have had a good chat about it and decided that if Waywell wants to be right for next season, he won't play again in the last weeks of this season."
Prop Kieran Brookes will miss the Preston match as he is going to a family wedding in Somerset, a long-standing commitment.
Fylde are still monitoring the state of heath of wing Nick Royle, who has an infected heel and missed the win over Bradford And Bingley last weekend,
However, Nelson is hopeful that with the treatment from antibiotics Royle will be able to make it.
