HOSPITALITY at this summer’s Open Golf Championship at Royal Lytham and St Annes is enjoying a boom.
This follows a £2 million investment by the competition organisers, the Royal and Ancient.
There will be a new look to the hospitality area at the course.
The top two on-course restaurants will be housed in a new fairway edge, double-deck, pavilion on the 15th hole.
They will share this prime viewing location with a complex of corporate chalets.
Also new for 2012 is a bistro-style restaurant in the busy tented village that is proving popular with smaller businesses and golfing enthusiasts.
The £2 million investment includes a new double-deck pavilion, enhanced event TV and leaderboard information.
Open spokesman Brett Tonkyn said: “We have had a great response from businesses to our new offer at The Open, with people reacting positively to the enhanced facilities, and recognising the fact that golf gives more quality time with customers and colleagues than any other sport.
“A further rush of sales was anticipated around Easter, and already private chalets for 30 and 50 people and the bistro-style Open Champions Restaurant are sold out for the Friday of the Championship.”
Packages at The Open range from £250 to £599 per person, and include priority parking, fast track lanes at pay-gates and catering options that range from bistro bar to fine dining.
All restaurants and chalets feature Open Championship TV with rolling leaderboard information, are air-conditioned and have private washroom facilities.
