Bristol’s Bethan Popel and Huddersfield’s Rochelle Morris led the way after the qualifying rounds of the Girls’ British Open amateur championship at Fairhaven Golf Club
Popel wasted no time in getting through to the last 32 on Wednesday as the matchplay stages got under way.
She eased her way through with an impressive 8&6 win against Tara McTaggart (Minto GC)
One of the highlight of day two of the competition, which has attracted the best young female golfers in the world was a hole-in-one at the 177-yard 10th hole by Welsh player Megan Lockett.
In the first round she had carded a bogey four at the same hole.
