IT'S been a big week for the sporting family Cardle from Lytham – and it could get even better
Footballer Joe Cardle, a midfielder, picked up a winner's medal as he took his place in the Airdrie United team that beat Ross County in the Alba Challenge Cup Final following a penalty shoot-out.
Cardle capped an outstanding day by being named man of the match.
After moving north from Port Vale, Cardle is reaping the benefit of getting regular games with Airdrie.
Meantime, his boxer brother Scott Cardle is off to Macedonia on Friday to represent England in an international.
