Two Fylde martial arts maestros have returned with medals from the British Taekwon-Do Championships in Derby.
Nine-year-old Sofie Urwin from St Annes won gold and Ruby Russell (eight) of Lytham bronze at the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain Championships at Pride Park.
Heyhouses School pupil Sofia and Ruby, who attends Ansdell Primary, both won their medal in the individual sparring.
The talented twosome also competed at the patterns (technical moves) and team sparring disciplines, narrowly missing out on medals in both.
The medals cap an outstanding year for both girls, who gained silver medals in tag team sparring at the International World Championships in Birmingham in July, when competitors from more than 25 countries took part.
They train together at Lytham Taekwon-Do on Wednesdays at Ansdell Arena and on Thursdays at Mayfield School, St Annes.
They also gained tag team sparring silver medals at the Welsh National Championships in May.
Ruby is also the reigning North Wales champion for individual sparring and gained silver in patterns.
She claimed bronze in individual sparring at the English National Championships in March.
Sofia is the North Midlands Champion for individual sparring and took bronze at North Wales,
