Snooker stars will be doing a double sporting shift in Lancashire in January.
The day before they assemble in Blackpool for the World Shootout, they will be swapping their snooker cues for golf clubs to raise money for the Paul Hunter foundation.
Steve Davis, John Higgins, Shaun Murphy, Mark Williams, Ken Doherty and Graeme Dott are among the stars who have already signed up to take part in the charity golf day at Accrington Golf Club on January 23,
Twenty four hours later, the World Snooker Shoot-Out gets under way at Blackpool Tower.
Organisers are now looking for 18 teams of three to take part in the golf day, with a snooker professional making up each team to four.
The cost to enter is £500 per team and there will also be an auction for teams to bid for the snooker pro they most want to make up their golf team.
Spectators are also welcome. Tickets are £5 if purchased advance via the website (see below) or £10 on the day and will be limited to a maximum of 500.
Organiser Tony Dobson said: “We’ve organised the event on the 23rd, the day before these top snooker players will be appearing in Blackpool.
“They all like a round of golf and so we thought it would be a novel idea to mix up the two sports to create a team sporting challenge where people get to play golf and meet their snooker heroes.”
All proceeds from the charity golf day will go to the Paul Hunter Foundation, which was established in 2006 in memory of Paul Hunter to give disadvantaged young people, able-bodied and disabled, an opportunity to play snooker.
