Fleetwood midfielder Stefan Scougall says Town will beat the drop.

Steven Pressley’s men are just two points ahead of today’s opponents Blackpool and the midfielder says if Town win their final three games they will survive.

He said: “I think it is in our hands and I think we have got the players and the confidence levels to stay up.

“We have an attacking style of play and it is in our own hands.

“We know we need to win every game and if we win every game we will be safe.”

Today’s game against Blackpool is Town’s penultimate home game of the campaign.

And Scougall says the two home games against Blackpool and already relegated Crewe could be vital as the relegation battle rumbles on.

He said: “We are two points ahead of Blackpool so it is very much so in our own hands.

“We know the home games are massive. They are two home games against teams who are below us Blackpool and Crewe.

“Crewe are down and they will have nothing to play for so they will just go out and enjoy their game so it is up to us to match that and hopefully we will come away with two victories.”

The on-loan Sheffield United player scored his first goal for the club in the 1-1 draw against Oldham last Saturday.

And he was pleased to open his Town account.

He said: “It was good to score my first goal (for the club against Oldham).

“It would have been better if we could have got the three points,

“If I could take the goal back and we’d the three points I would.”
