Jamie Milligan will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness for Fleetwood Town’s FA Cup replay at Yeovil tonight after the cruelest of injury blows.
With a third-round tie at home to his former club Blackpool at stake, Milligan admits he will be gutted if he has to sit out the Somerset rematch (7.30pm).
But the 31-year-old playmaker is racing the clock after he sustained a back injury in the celebrations which followed his last-gasp penalty equaliser in the Highbury tie with the Glovers 11 days ago.
Manager Micky Mellon said: “Milli is our only real injury concern but we’ll give him every chance.
“We have covered all possibilities, and we have made plans and have team shapes for a side with Milli in and for one without him, but if the tie had been Monday night he would not have played.”
Town will be forced into one change from the original tie, with Gareth Seddon suspended after picking up five bookings.
