DEAN Howell made Fleetwood Town history on Saturday and secured his place in Fylde coast pub quizzes for evermore.
The left-back scored Town’s first ever Football League goal, which proved enough to secure their first League Two win at the third attempt.
The much-travelled 31-year-old, one of Town’s dozen summer signings, struck from a free-kick two minutes into the second half at Burton Albion, his hometown club.
Howell’s strike brought delight and relief for manager Micky Mellon, who said: “Now that we’ve got that first goal and first victory we can move on. We’ve got that bit of history under our belts.”
