PROMOTION-chasing Fleetwood Town have completed the capture of Newport County midfielder Danny Rose.
The England C international will link up with the Highbury club in the New Year once the transfer window opens.
The deal will be finalised at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
Town, second in the Blue Square Bet Premier and bidding for Football League status, claim to have beaten off several interested Football League clubs to his signature
Personal terms have been agreed with the player ending a three-year spell at Spytty Park which saw him appear in the FA Cup for Newport earlier this season.
Rose is the leading scorer with the South Wales outfit with eleven goals and this tally caught the eye of Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman, who had taken a serious look at him.
The former Manchester United reserve captain spent one week training with the Championship club in October before returning to Blue Square Bet Premier action with The Exiles. Rose scored a penalty in County’s win at Highbury earlier this season and appeared before Christmas when Fleetwood came home with three points.
Meanwhile, on loan defender Kieran Charnock looks set to make his stay at Highbury permanent.
The Morecambe player has impressed Micky Mellon scoring two goals in four appearances while on loan for Town.
That deal is also likely to be completed in the New Year.
