The Gledhill Cup took centre stage in the Blackpool and Fylde Sunday Alliance and there was no shortage of shocks.

Fleetwood Gym caused an upset by beating higher league Teamsport 90 4-2. Carl Hugman, Ashley McGough and two from Billy Marshell sealed victory, despite replies by Stuart Holloway and Robert Greaves.

Cleveleys Mens Club overcame Shovels 5-2, with two apiece from Jordan Spedding and Philip Smith. Michael Clark scored the other and Samuel Binks bagged both replies. Blackhurst Budd eased past Eden 10-2 with doubles from Conner Adam, Tarren Moxon and Rick Seear, with Steven Seear, Mark Thornber, Daniel Hartley and William Watt also on target.

Bloomfield Club also beat higher division opposition in Devonshire Arms. Benjamin Mackay scored a hat-trick in the 7-4 upset, with goals from Ross Gouck, Richard Jones and Stewart Ralston (2).

Frenchmans Cove also knocked out a top-flight team in Boars Head 5-3, with three from Karl McLeod and two by Graeme Hutchinson. Lee O’Neil netted two for Boars.

Blue Room beat Mythop Leisure 3-1 as Chris Gray, Tim Kinley and Adam Potter did the damage.

Marco Cobb scored the only goal for Northern Care against FC Rangers and Nick Pugh bagged three in Poulton SFC’s 7-2 success against Victoria. Yet another shock saw Wesham beat Palmers Heating 3-2 courtesy of Nathan Shelliker, Chris Whitside and Shaun Wordan.

Carl Faber fired four for Fylde Coast Gates in their 5-3 win over Wilo. Henry Wright netted the other. Adrian Hunt (2) and Paul Dickinson were Wrea Green’s scorers in the 3-0 win over Exceptional Kitchens. Athletico Excelsior were dumped out 7-4 by Score, for whom Sam Bannister scored three. Harry Greenwood netted twice.

Clifton Rangers were 3-0 winners at Links Hotel as Marc Hanson and Kieran Rimmington shared the goals. Paul Gaskell scored at the double for Hampton Social in a 4-1 victory over Kingsfield, with Jason Jenks and Craig Robinson also on target.

There were league matches as well, including two 3-3 draws in division two. Little Fat Jacks were held by visitors Highfield Social as Scott Thomson scored twice, while there were pairs for Benjamin Hutley and Chris Cairns in the six-goal stalemate between bottom club Wyre and CTK.

AFC Burlington got back to winning ways in division three with a 4-2 win at Marshall Court, where Martyn Finnigan scored twice, and Thomas Delaney and Josh Evans were on target too.

RAOB Layton are celebrating their first win, 6-4 against Bispham Hotel, with Matthew Cooper, Harry Haydock, Robert Lea, Jamie Lowther and Adam Zarkowski among the goals. Emlyn Hauber scored twice for Bispham. Uncle Toms Cabin are still looking for their first win after going down 6-3 to Chris Allen Garages, for whom Peter Clarkson hit three and Martin Brennan two. Mario Panteli scored too.

Metrostars are three points clear at the top of division four after their 4-1 win over Fire and Ice. Ma Kellys are hot on thier heels after an 8-1 win over Bloomfield in which David Morris struck four and Nathan Campbell two. Philip Dilworth and Ryan Green scored too.

Fylde Coast Veterans were 5-2 winners over FC Albion as Lee Barker scored twice. Thomas Pendlebury bagged both for Albion. The Albion FC and Dutton Arms drew 5-5, Matty Grime scoring twice for Dutton. Walkabout FC beat Wyre Athletic 6-2 with a Kevin Everton hat-trick, Matt Gowan’s double and an Adam Salisbury goal.
