AFC Fylde central defender Tom Eckersley is out of the Coasters’ trip to Marine tomorrow in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League
Eckersley damaged his knee in the recent match with Ashton United.
Coasters’ manager Dave Challinor said: “Maybe it will only be a couple of weeks for Tom, but we won’t for certain how long until we get the results of a scan on his knee.”
The club are also monitoring the fitness of striker Richie Allen, recently returned from Nelson FC.
The 28-year-old record goal-scorer in AFC Fylde’s history suffered a dead leg in the match with Ashton, but he should be okay for the Marine clash.
Challinor’s men go into tomorrow’s clash buoyed by a recent improvement in results, culminating in a 4-0 win over Nantwich Town in the Doodson Sport League Cup.
Looking back on that win, which secured AFC Fylde’s place in the quarter-finals of the competition, Challinor said: “We made a few changes to give lads some game time and it was a really good performance that kept our recent good run going.
“Michael Barnes got 90 minutes in for us, while Danny Lloyd got game time too.
“We should be near enough full strength for the Marine match.
“We know very much what to expect when we go to Marine.
“They will have a lot of Liverpool lads in the team, so what you will get from them is plenty of steely determination and commitment.
“We know it will be a tough game.
“Marine were in and around the play-off places last season and fell away somewhat and the same sort of thing has happened to them this season.
“What we have to do is make sure that we have our own preparation right.”
