National League North outfit AFC Fylde have placed the club’s all-time leading goalscorer Richie Allen on the transfer list.
The decision comes following the opening day defeat at Solihull Moors in which the former Bamber Bridge star was sent off early in the game for a deliberate handball.
Manager Dave Challinor said: “Richie is a fans’ favourite, has undoubted ability and on his day is a match winner but like many players of quality, has his flaws.
“He’s had countless opportunities and warnings and unfortunately he’s failed to heed these and this has begun to effect other players in the dressing room.
“Our dressing room is close knit and it is our responsibility as a management team to keep the harmony in there. He’ll be a loss on the pitch but no one is bigger or more important than the club and a fresh start for everyone is the best course of action.”
The player will be made available for permanent transfer or a loan, subject to a deal being agreed.
