AFC Fylde won 1-0 at Padiham thanks to a late goal that kept their unbeaten pre-season record intact.
They had to work hard for victory, the clincher coming in stoppage-time courtesy of Jack Dorney.
The home side should have took more from the game but were denied on a number of occasions by Fylde keeper Calvin Hare’s heroics - twice in two minutes in the second half he denied striker Keiron Pickup with full length saves right on the line and made a number of other important stops to frustrate Padiham.
Manager Dave Challinor named a completely different side to the team that beat Bamber Bridge 4-1 two nights previous, mixing up his starting 11 with a number of Development Squad players with other First Team players that didn’t play on Tuesday.
After Matty Blinkhorn was brought down right on the edge of the penalty area Dorney was the one to step up and curl a shot into the bottom left corner of the goal and steal a win for the Coasters at the death.
Fylde finish their pre-season preparations on Saturday when they travel to Barrow.
