GOALS from David Ball and Alan Goodall helped Fleetwood Town to a shock victory at Vale Park.
Ball got the final touch to hand Fleetwood the lead after 26 minutes before Goodall headed home a deserved second for the visitors ten minutes before the break.
Vale tried their best to strike back and won a penalty midway through the second half when Dean Howell brought down Jennison Myrie Williams, Scott Davies saving the spot kick.
Fleetwood saw out the Valiants’ pressure and could have added a third late one, Alex Titchiner with a poor touch after an excellent run.
Town earlier today revealed three signing to kick off their January transfer dealings, midfielders Gareth Evans - joining from Rotherham United - and Mozesh Giorio arriving at Highbury along with experienced keeper David Lucas who will also be part of Graham Alexander’s coaching staff.
