GOALKEEPER Scott Davies was sent off as Fleetwood Town slumped to defeat against fellow promotion contenders Burton Albion
Davies brought down Albion’s Jacques Maghoma ten minutes into the second half, referee Gary Sutton quick to point to the spot, quicker still to produce his card.
Maghoma converted from the penalty spot to hand Gary Rowett’s men a slender advantage – one doubled by Billy Kee with a quarter of an hour remaining.
Casual defending from Fleetwood gifted Kee space on the edge of the box, his 19 yard effort placed to perfection, dropping off the angle past stand-in stopper David Lucas.
Fleetwood threw Jamille Matt into the action in the hope of finding a way back.
And they came close when David Ball let rip from the left flank, Stuart Tomlinson almost spilling the ball into the path of Jean Michel Fontaine.
But Burton sealed victory with three minutes remaining, substitute Calvin Zola picking out the run of Maghoma, the tricky winger sliding the ball low past Lucas to bag his second of the game.
Maghoma just had time to tee up Zola for Albions’s fourth, ten-man Fleetwood completely undone.
