FIRST half dominance counted for nothing as Fleetwood Town were beated once again at home.
Jamille Matt, David Ball, Ryan Crowther and Gareth Evans had all gone close for Town before the home side made a hash of defending a corner four minutes from the break - substitute Armaund Gnanduillet heading home.
One down at the break would have been harsh, two down was a traversty - Marc Richard’s goal-buster on the stroke of half time a special strike, but bad news for Graham Alexander’s men.
Richards rubbed salt into wounds on the hour, slamming home after Scott Davies had saved Sam Togwell’s effort.
Andy Mangan came off the bench to reduce the arrears, his first goal since August taken well.
But Fleetwood weren’t able to give momentum to the fightback - Chesterfield with a rearguard action to make the three points theirs.
