Magno sends Fleetwood top
Magno Vieira celebrates his goal with team mates.
MAGNO Vieira came in from the cold at Fleetwood Town last night to turn up the heat in the race for the Conference title.
Last season’s top scorer has been a regular bench-warmer for Town this time around, but the Brazilian marked his first start since Boxing Day with two goals to help Micky Mellon’s men come back from behind to beat ten-man Braintree 3-1.
And to complete another great night at Highbury, they now stand a point clear at the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier after title rivals Wrexham lost by the only goal at Forest Green – missing an injury-time penalty which would have kept them top.
Town fans were also delighted to see Jamie Vardy back in the side and scoring their other goal – his 21st of the season – to show his commitment to the cause amid all the transfer rumours of interest from league clubs.
