Friends will be reunited on the touchline

Ardley and Rosler are old acquaintances from when Rosler managed Brentford.

Ardley is celebrating his fifth year in charge of the Dons, having guided them to the third tier during that period.

And Rosler (right) says he is a big fan of Ardley as the Donsy head to Highbury keen to bounce back from a 1-0 home defeat to Shrewsbury last weekend.

He said: “I really admire their coach. “I know him from my time down there at Brentford.

“He is a good guy, a really good coach, he wants his team to play but also is not afraid to mix it up and have a Plan B.

“This year they try to play more; they don’t have such a tall team but they still have the characteristic that Wimbledon always has - fight, never give up and that is why they are dangerous.

“They will come here and show no fear and try and get a result.

“Every team who comes to Highbury will be a challenge for us that is what we have to live with and that is what we are dealing with.”

Fleetwood drew 2-2 at the Cherry Red Records Stadium and 0-0 at Highbury with the Dons last term.

And Rosler says they were two tight games with the away clash notable for the rise of his wing-back formation.

He said: “Last year we played them twice.

“I think we played really well at their place.

“I think it was one of the first away games when we played the 3-5-2 and we looked really good.

“We got a late equaliser when we should have won the game comfortably..

“I’m as confident as ever, I think our squad is ready, I know the game will be difficult but manageable and it is up to us what sort of performance we show.”

Rosler said they needed to address parts of their performance from their 1-0 win over Northampton on the training pitch this week.

And, after the development squad’s 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic on Wednesday, the squad is raring to go.

He said: “I think we got everything done that we wanted done.

“Players who needed minutes played at Oldham; you were there, you saw that game, you saw who played well, who put themselves in contention, who did not put themselves in contention.

“We got a lot of things done this week; today is the final preparation, there will be more tactical more detail work and then we are ready.”
