Fleetwood Town’s first game of the 2016/17 League One season is at Northampton Town.

Steven Pressley’s men will open the campaign against the newly promoted League Two champions at the Sixfields Stadium on August 6 at 3pm.

Former Town boss Graham Alexander is set to make his first return to Highbury since his departure last October on the second weekend of the new season.

Alexander’s Scunthorpe United side will head to the Fylde coast on August 13.

Town will host Bury on Boxing Day and Oldham Athletic are set to travel to Highbury on New Year’s Eve.

Town’s closest away game is at Bolton Wanderers and they travel to the Macron Stadium on August 20.

The club’s long away trip to Southend is also early in the season and Town travel to Roots Hall on August 27.

Pressley’s men will end the season at home to Port Vale on August 30.
