Midfielder Roberts, 20, made just one senior appearance for Town’s first team in the 4-2 Checkatrade Trophy defeat at Carlisle in November while Myers, 19, ended the season on-loan at relegated National League side Southport.

The news came after the club released a retained list for Paul Murray’s development squad that also stated they have activated options to keep striker Mamadou Djabi and defender Nathan Sheron for a further 12 months.

Djabi scored more than 30 goals for Nathan Rooney’s youth side in the 2015/16 but has spent 12 months on the sidelines due to a nasty knee injury.

The striker has now returned to training and has been rewarded with a fresh deal with defender Sheron, 19, who enjoyed a loan spell at National League North side Chorley this season also penning a new deal.

Defender Akil Wright, who spent time on-loan at National League side Barrow and former AFC Fylde keeper Matt Urwin who was named on the bench for the first team due to Chris Neal’s hand injury, have been offered new contracts with negotiations ongoing.
