The 22-year-old is expected to join Town on a season long deal, with the Cherries given an option of a January recall.

It will not be the defender’s first loan spell in League One, he made 10 appearances during a loan spell with Gillingham last term.

He returned to Vitality Stadium to make his Premier League debut as a substitute in Cherries’ 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in March.

And the England under-20 international, who has also served Coventry, Torquay and Welling on loan, skippered Cherries to victory in the third round of the FA Cup at Birmingham in January 2016.
