BARRY Ferguson has joined Fleetwood Town on a three months loan.
The midfielder stressed his desire to leave Blackpool after being named on the bench for the game against Burnley.
After talks with Ian Holloway and Pool chairman Karl Oyston, it was agreed he would be allowed to leave the club on loan.
He put pen to paper on a loan deal at Highbury this morning, despite yet more interest from his former club Birmingham.
On the decision to allow his captain to leave, Pool boss Ian Holloway explained: “Our captain doesn’t want to play here anymore, so we’ve had to sort that out.
“We had a call to say that he’s likely to be signed by another club tomorrow.
“We’ve put everything in place that he can go on a free transfer or sign for another club for an amount of money.
“Fleetwood have showed fantastic ambition in their attempts to get him.
“I had Bristol Rovers call-up about him yesterday, and another club came back in, but they couldn’t pay what Fleetwood were going to.
“His choices are there, so take one of them.
“If he comes back here, he isn’t going to be in my group.
“My chairman has dealt with it well.”
