Alex Marrow has warned Fleetwood Town fans not to get too excited over his debut goal for the club.
Marrow, who played 20 games for Town last season on loan from Crystal Palace, has returned for a second loan spell at Highbury – this time from Blackburn Rovers.
And the 23-year-old, who is with Graham Alexander’s side until the end of the season, scored his first goal for the club to secure a 2-0 win over 10-man Hartlepool United.
Marrow was called into action from the bench after just six minutes when Jeff Hughes was scythed down by Jordan Richards.
And he went on to net after being put through on goal by Mikael Mandron.
Despite his heroics Marrow warned fans not to expect much more in terms of his strike rate.
“I didn’t expect to be involved as early as I was,” he admitted.
“I certainly didn’t expect to score. “I don’t think the fans should get too used to it.
“The last time was when I was on loan at Oldham and that’s while ago now. But I’m glad to have contributed.”
