Two fixtures were ringed in bright red for Fleetwood Town fans after the publication today of the 2015-16 Football League fixtures - Graham Alexander’s men will be at Bloomfield Road on November 28, while they will play relegated Blackpool in the return in League One on April 23.

It will be the first time the two clubs have ever met in Football League competition, though they have clashed in the FA Cup previously, the Seasiders winning on each occasion,

That second meeting between the two clubs takes place three matches before the end of the season.

Fleetwood kick off the season on August 8 with a home match against Southend United, newly-promoted from League Two after a dramatic play-off final win at Wembley.

The following Saturday, Fleetwood have a cracker of a Lancashire derby at Boundary Park against Oldham.

Three days later, Town have another all-Lancashire set-to against newly-promoted club Bury at Gigg Lane.

Another eye-catching couple of matches are at away to Wigan Athletic on September 19.

The return is a Christmas cracker at Highbury against Wigan on December 28.

Over the New Year, Fleetwood host Bury on January 2.

On Boxing Day, Fleetwood are away to Shrewsbury Town, freshly-promoted and managed by Micky Mellon, the former Town boss.

Mellon returns to Highbury with his Shrewsbury side on February 6 for an intriguing clash.
