The Capital One Cup draw threw up two tasty encounters for the Fylde coast’s clubs.

Blackpool will travel to Shrewsbury Town - where former Pool midfielder and Fleetwood Town boss Micky Mellon is at the helm.

Ex Seasiders Secretary Matt Williams is chief executive at the New Meadow having recently departed Bloomfield Road.

The Shrews were relagated to League Two at the end of last season.

Meanwhile Fleetwood Town will travel to the New York Stadium where they will face newly promoted Rotherham United.

Town are no strangers to The Millers, having knocked the Championship outfit out of last season’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

There were heated scenes in the tunnel after that game when Rotherham boss Steve Evans and his Highbury counterpart Graham Alexander clashed.

The Millers, like Fleetwood, were promoted through the play-offs, their victory at Wembley coming just 24 hours before Fleetwood’s famous win.

Ties will be played the week commencing August 11.
