Fleetwood Town twice threw away a lead as they were forced to settle for a point at fortress Gigg Lane.
Bury had lost just three times at home ahead of this clash but could have been sunk before the break, Nathan Pond unable to make the most of two point-blank headers.
The visitors did take the lead before the break, Antoni Sarcevic only too happy to blast home after Jon Parkin couldn’t get anything significant on Josh Morris’s low cross.
It was a deserved lead which lasted just two minutes after the break, danger man Daniel Nardiello with a neat flick to put the home side level.
Parity didn’t last for long, Fleetwood battling back admirably and re-taking the lead when Steven Schumacher’s tenacity gave Jamille Matt a chance to shoot.
The lead was gone before you could blink, Bury charging forward, Nardiello hacked down by Charlie Taylor and smashing his penalty past Chris Maxwell.
Both sides had chances to win it, Schumacher dragginga shot wide for the visitors, Pablo Mills and Jean-Louis Akpa Akrpo with opportunities for the hosts.
But the frantic finale came to nought, a draw not enough to take Bury out of the danger zone, and not enough to help Fleetwood significantly close the gap on their rivals.
