DOUBLES from Sam Baldock and Jon Carew seal the win for West Ham on a miserable afternoon for the Seasiders.

After Carew gave the hosts a half-time lead, seven minutes of total madness saw Ian Holloway’s men four down and out of the game.

Blackpool’s defence fell apart and there’s plenty to work on ahead of Tuesday’s home game against Doncaster at Bloomfield Road.

FULL TIME: WEST HAM 4 BLACKPOOL 0

90 mins: Five minutes time added on.

86 mins: Lualua has shown signs of real quality. Great touch, looks tricky. Not sure about his fitness.

82 mins: Big chance for Blackpool as a corner falls to Alex Baptiste, ten yards out. Scuffed it wide.

80 mins: Jon Carew has been taken off, Matt Hill will be glad to see the back of him.

79 mins: Lomana LuaLua looks sharp and a nice turn and pass from him set Stephen Crainey in on goal. Tight angle sadly.

77 mins: Fantastic save from Matt Gilks denies Sam Baldock his hatrick. Odd too say this when we are four down, by Gilks has been Pool’s best player today. Some great saves.

75 mins: At least Blackpool have calmed things down here, keeping the ball much better now. No signs of a miracle comeback though.

72 mins: West Ham have taken their foot off the gas here, lucky for Blackpool.

67 mins: Blackpool make three changes. Daniel Bogdanovic, Brett Ormerod and a debut for Lomana Lua Lua. They replace Tom Ince, Kevin Phillips and Jonjo Shelvey. Instructions....go win the game for us lads!

65 mins: Sam Baldock has his third ruled out by the linesman’s flag.

65 mins: Hard to explain what’s happened here. Blackpool have looked poor at the back all afternoon. Hate to single anyone out, but this is an afternoon to forget for Matt Hill. He isn’t the only culprit though today.

63 mins: Long range effort by Shelvey. High and wide.

60 mins: What a horrible afternoon this is turning into for Blackpool. They are being torn apart by West Ham here. I can’t put into words how badly we’ve defended this afternoon.

55 mins: GOAL TO WEST HAM!!

Blackpool have totally fallen apart here. Pinball in the box before it fell to Jack Collison who smashed it into the goal from 12 yards.

51 mins: GOAL TO WEST HAM!!!

Terrible defending from Blackpool allowed Sam Baldock to get his second of the game. Jon Carew flicked the ball past Gilks, Matt Hill got back on the line but hesitated and allowed Baldock to nick in. Terrible defending.

48 mins: Going to be very difficult to come back from this for Blackpool. Lackluster performance so far. We never seem to play well in London! (apart from a certain day in May 2010...of course.)

47 mins: GOAL TO WEST HAM!!!!

Blackpool claim for offside as Sam Baldock beats the offside trap to cooly finish past Gilks. Blackpool are up against it now. Ian Evatt played the striker onside.

46 mins: Early chance for Matt Taylor who fired over from the home side. If Blackpool let another in, it will be game over here.

45 mins: Another rendition of ‘Bubbles’ as the teams come out and the second half gets underway.

47 mins: HALF TIME: WEST HAM 1 BLACKPOOL 0

Great start from Blackpool, but the goal changed the game and Pool have looked very shakey since. At 1-0 they are well and truely in the game though.

46 mins: Jonjo Shelvey turns and fires towards goal from 25-yards. Decent save.

45 mins: Two minutes of time added on.

43 mins: Another fantastic save from Matt Gilks keeps Blackpool in the game. It was Carew in on goal again and his low shot was beat away by the Pool keeper.

40 mins: Jonjo Shelvey fires a free-kick so high and wide that it almost ends up in the Upper Tier.

39 mins: Free-kick to Blackpool in a good area 30 yards out as Papa Bouba Diop fouls Kevin Phillips.

35 mins: Kevin Phillips tries a volley from the edge of the box, scuffed it straight at the keeper. Turned into a frustrating half for the Seasiders.

31 mins: Blackpool look shakey at the back this afternoon, has to be said.

27 mins: Error by Matt Hill allowed Carew in on goal. Fine save from Matt Gilks. Hill seemed to take his eye off the ball and allow it to roll under his foot. Big let off.

25 mins: Everything that West Ham do well comes via a ball up to Jon Carew who holds it up and brings the midfield into play. He looks a real asset at this level.

23 mins: Bit of an escape for Blackpool as the referee blew for a free-kick to the home side only for the ball to fall to a West Ham player in a really good position. He pulled the game back, much to the anger of the home side.

22 mins: Long range effort from Barry Ferguson never looked like going in, decent move from Blackpool though.

17 mins: Blackpool seem a little shell shocked here. Odd occasion so far, no atmosphere and Blackpool are a goal down with West Ham’s first attack.

13 mins: Poor goal to give away for Blackpool. For some reason Matt Hill (Blackpool’s smallest defender) keeps getting caught with the giant that is Carew. Needs sorting.

LATEST: WEST HAM 1 BLACKPOOL 0

12 mins: GOAL TO WEST HAM!! Against the run of play Sam Baldock lifted a nothing ball into the middle and the giant Jon Carew was there for a free header. Sadly a man of his experience doesn’t miss those.

11 mins: All Blackpool here, home crowd are silent. Good start. Interesting that Shelvey seems to be playing quite wide, would like to see him involved in the middle of the park more.

8 mins: Jonjo Shelvey effort is deflected wide for a corner, his ball was then well defended by the home side.

4 mins: Tom Ince has made a lively start for the Seasiders. He has all the attributes to be a top player.

3 mins: Good start from Blackpool here, look confident on the ball. Bright start.

3pm: We are underway here, Pool in their away kit of White shirts and tangerine shorts.

2:55pm: We’ve now had two renditions of ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles,’ they love that song here.

2:50 pm: Brilliant atmosphere here today. Proper stadium this.

Team news: Pool make two changes from the side that beat Bristol City 5-0.

Matt Hills replaces the injured Craig Cathcart and Tom Ince comes in for Craig Sutherland.

Lomana Lua Lua makes the bench.
