John Fleck looks set to join Blackpool instead of Sheffield United– but the deal won’t go through until the Seasiders come to a financial agreement with Rangers
The SPL giants will expect Pool to contribute significantly to the striker’s wages during his stay at Bloomfield Road for the rest of the season.
Negotiations are ongoing but Pool boss Ian Holloway is confident Fleck will be unveiled as a Seasider before the weekend, as will fellow frontman Kwesi Appiah, who is set to join in a £200,000 move from non-league Margate,
Pool are also being linked with a loan move for QPR midfielder Akos Buzsaky, though the London club’s appointment of new manager Mark Hughes could wreck any deal. The 29-year-old played under Holloway at Plymouth.
Buzsaky has made just seven appearances since QPR won promotion to the Premier League and has been looking to go out on loan this month, with the Seasiders leading the chase.
But the sacking of Neil Warnock at Loftus Road has thrown the move into doubt.
Injuries and suspensions meant Buzsaky earned a rare start in Sunday’s defeat at Newcastle and the Hungarian is reported to be determined to stay and fight for his place.
Buzsaky said: “Nobody can take their place for granted in the team. The Newcastle game was my first start since August. I hope I can do this more.”
