Midfielder Liam Tomsett has played himself into Paul Ince’s good books.
The 20-year-old has been at the club for almost 10 years, having come through Pool’s youth system, but is yet to make his League debut.
Ian Holloway gave him a debut in the FA Cup defeat by Southampton in January 2011, when Pool were in the Premier League.
That remains Tomsett’s only first-team appearance to date, though he has since been loaned to Altrincham, Ayr United and Hyde.
He was voted players’ player of the year at Conference club Hyde last season, and caught the eye with his all-action display for Pool at Kendal on Tuesday.
And manager Paul Ince was impressed, saying: “I thought ‘Teddy’ was the best player on the park on Tuesday.
“He showed that he wanted to be out there in a Blackpool shirt.
“His tempo was excellent, he covered a lot of ground and he made all the right decisions.
“He showed what I expect of someone connected to this football club.
“He had the correct attitude.”
Tomsett is expected to travel with the squad for tonight’s game against Witton Albion.
