Milton, who has been in charge while manager Gary Johnson recovers from heart surgery, watched on as goals from Mark Cullen, Clark Robertson and Neil Danns condemned his relegation-threatened side to a comprehensive defeat.

He was unhappy with the performance levels of his players but insisted he could have no complaints with the defeat.

"We started alright and I thought for the first 20 minutes we were good and managed to quieten the crowd," he said. "But they're a good team so I can't be too harsh on the lads.

"We didn't do ourselves justice and we didn't the hit the heights of the last four games and teams like Blackpool will punish you, and they did.

"There was some poor defending from us and we left it to last-ditch tackles and blocks too often for my liking.

"We didn't squeeze the ball high enough up the pitch but there was a spell where they were dominant and they punished us with two goals.

"The second half was just one of those times where we had a few chances but they scored again.

"I have no complaints at all. They're a good team and I fancy them in the play-offs. There's some good players in there and one or two strikers to come back as well.

"But I was disappointed in our performance. Our levels dropped so we have to pick them up next week."
