A RICKIE Lambert goal deep into stoppage time meant Blackpool had to be content with a point against Southampton.

The former Blackpool youngster headed home at the back post on 94 minutes to deny Pool a win at the league leaders.

Lambert put the home side ahead on 30 minutes before Basham headed home from six yards to bring Blackpool level.

Saints keeper Bartosz Bialowski spilled a 25 yard strike from McManaman just after the break and that looked to have handed Ian Holloway’s men the points.

However, a goal four minutes into added time broke Pool’s hearts.

Follow our minute-by-minute report below.

FULL TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 2 BLACKPOOL 2

LATEST: SOUTHAMPTON 2 BLACKPOOL 2

94 mins: GOAL FOR SOUTHAMPTON!!!

Rickie Lambert rises at the back post the score deep into injury time. Such a shame for Blackpool.

92 mins: Matty Phillips is replaced by Tom Ince.

91 mins: Big shout for a penalty as Craig Cathcart looked to bundle Schneiderlin over in the box, waved away.

90 mins: FIVE minutes added time.

87 mins: Gary Taylor-Fletcher snuck in behind Dan Harding but couldn’t quite get his shot off.

85 mins: Only Blackpool would bring off a defensive midfielder for a striker when 2-1 up at the league leaders, never doubt Ian Holloway though!

83 mins: Chris Basham, who’s done well today, is replaced by Lomanu Lualua.

82 mins: Pool under real pressure here. Hooiveld turns and shoots wide for the home side.

81 mins: Chris Basham is booked for a foul on the half-way line. Home fans wanted a red.

78 mins: Do Prado heads over from six yards.

75 mins: Kevin Phillips comes on to replace Callum McManaman.

68 mins: Difficult spell for Blackpool, the home side throwing men forward as you would expect. Pool just have to keeper it tight and hope for a goal on the break.

Defending well so far.

61 mins: Barry Ferguson and Rickie Lambert are booked for a needless tussle in the corner.

60 mins: Dean Hammond cuts in from the left and curled one towards the far post for the home side, just wide.

58 mins: Not sure Ian Holloway will be too pleased about how open this game is. Blackpool, in typical fashion, are going for the third.

56 mins: Do Prado forces a good save from Gilks from 22 yards.

55 mins: Matty Phillips is proving a real threat for Blackpool today, exactly what a player of his quality should be.

51 mins: I’d be shocked if there weren’t more goals in this game, very open here.

30 mins: GOAL TO SOUTHAMPTON!!

Yet again Blackpool chose to try and play it out of danger, this time Neal Eardley was caught in possession and it eventually fell to Rickie Lambert who scored via a deflection.

26 mins: Some great defending from Ian Evatt stopped Dean Hammond converting a right-wing cross. He did enough to stop the skipper getting a clean strike from six yards.

22 mins: Nice work from Matty Phillips wins Blackpool a corner. Ludo Sylvestre takes, well defended by the home side.

19 mins: I’d like to see Blackpool getting the ball forward a little quicker here. We seem keen on playing deep in our own half so far today, could lead to trouble.

17 mins: Schneiderlin turns and shoots over on the half-volley from ten yards for the home side. Pool under a bit of pressure here.

16 mins: Guly Do Prado fires a dangerous ball across Blackpool’s box, luckily no-one was on the end of it.

14 mins: Ludo Sylvestre tries his luck from long-range, decent strike and a good save in the end.

12 mins: Not the best of games here so far, both sides easing their way into it.

8 mins: Schneiderlin, with his golden boots, is rolling around after a strong challenge from Craig Cathcart....brilliant tackle.

6 mins: Jos Hooiveld heads over for Southampton from six yards, never looked like troubling Gilks’ goal.

5 mins: Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin is wearing gold boots, he must be some player!

4 mins: Chris Basham forces a save from the home keeper when he met a Matty Phillips right-wing cross. Bright start from Pool.

1 min: Interesting team selection today from Ian Holloway. Think he’s keen on playing a more defensive minded midfielder in the form of Basham. Lualua offers a great option from the bench.

12:45pm: Southampton kick-off on a freezing cold afternoon on the South Coast.

12:42pm: Here come the teams. Pool in their changed kit of white shirts, tangerine shorts and white socks.

Pre match:

Ian Holloway made one change to the side that beat Reading at Bloomfield Road last week.

Lomano LuaLua is replaced by Chris Basham, the striker drops to the bench,

Apart from that, it’s unchanged.

Pool: Gilks, Eardley, Crainey, Cathcart, Evatt, Ferguson, Sylvestre, Basham, McManaman, Taylor-Fletcher and Matt Phillips.

Subs: Howard, Angel, Lualua, Ince and K Phillips.
