Nathan Delfouneso fired two goals as Blackpool beat Bury in a training game yesterday.
Pool’s second string side saw off their League Two hosts 6-2 behind closed doors.
Michael Chopra scored a penalty, with Tom Barkhuizen, Bobby Grant and Craig Sutherland also on target.
The game marked Sutherland’s return after a year out injured. His contract expired at the end of last season but he has remained with the squad in a bid to earn a new deal.
The 24-year-old, who has undergone two operations on a troublesome knee, has made eight appearances for the club since Ian Holloway signed him in 2011.
Manager Paul Ince was delighted that more strikers have got game-time.
He said: “The hardest thing is that our strikers aren’t fit yet.
“I would maybe have looked to bring strikers on at the weekend to change the game (at Middlesbrough), but they aren’t fit yet.
“Ricardo Fuller hasn’t trained for two weeks, Chopra is still short and so is Delfouneso.
“But this is another week on the training ground.”
