Blackpool are on the verge of signing Rochdale striker Bobby Grant.
The 23-year-old has agreed terms at Bloomfield Road and will have a medical on the Fylde coast this afternoon.
If all goes to plan, the striker will be confirmed as Paul Ince’s second signing of the summer tomorrow.
Blackpool are also in talks with Swindon’s Paul Caddis after having their improved offer for the Scottish defender accepted by the League One club yesterday.
Grant fired 16 goals for Rochdale last season and is the product of Liverpool’s Academy.
Pool boss Paul Ince told The Gazette: “We have Bobby Grant in on Wednesday to hopefully get a medical done.
“That’s a big boost. He’s a very good player.
“Sixteen goals in a season is a great return for a young player.
“We need goals. We can’t keep relying on Thomas (Ince), so we have a few irons in the fire.”
As revealed in yesterday’s Gazette, Pool tabled a second bid for right-back Caddis yesterday.
Ince added: “I think Paul is a very good player. He showed that during his time (on a season-long loan) at Birmingham last year.
“He gets up and down the park well.
“It’s nice to know we have a fee agreed, even if we are a little bit away from sorting personal terms at the moment.
“There are one or two little things to sort out.”
